Supporting local business

Cumbria has a clear vision – to become Europe’s Number One rural tourism destination.  The county is dependent on tourism for the local economy and we are a proud part of the supply chain supporting those businesses.  With offices in Kendal, Windermere and Kirkby Lonsdale we cannot help but be in the centre of all things tourism, hospitality and leisure related and we already act for many businesses who operate in this sector – see our sector specialisms.  We have assisted clients with a range of legal issues, helping them to grow and succeed.

In 2019 we became one of Cumbria Tourism’s Strategic Partners part of an initiative to help CT raise much needed funds.  Strategic Partners are businesses who share Cumbria Tourism’s values and desire to work together to support and help grow the value of tourism countywide.  Being a Strategic Partner is a great way of showing our support for the rural tourism industry.  Other Strategic Partners include clients of the firm and we believe it is important to show our support for them too.  In October 2021 we were proud and delighted to win best Rural Professional Services Business at the North regional finals of the Rural Business Awards.  And then in February 2022 we went on to win the award at National level, which was an amazing honour.

Although all of our lawyers have experience in dealing with matters for tourism, hospitality and leisure related clients, your points of contact would be John Cooke, Stuart Bailey or Anna Knowles (for commercial property), Fiona Ward (for wills and succession planning) and Suzie Fisher (for licensing, dispute resolution and all other general enquiries).
