We were delighted to have heard that Wilson & Co Properties Limited won the Best Medium Volume New Housing Development award at the LABC Building Excellence Awards 2022, having reached the grand finals as regional winners.  The winning development at Warton Grange Close is a mix of 2 and 3 bedroom houses and bungalows in a picturesque location in village of Warton, near Carnforth.

Stuart Bailey from our property team worked closely with Wilson & Co dealing with both the acquisition of the land and the subsequent sales of the plots to buyers.  Stuart has said “it is a delight to work with both Byron and Alan Wilson on their developments.  This was a really enjoyable project especially seeing the site start as an agricultural piece of land and then develop into 24 residential properties, both a mixture of private and affordable housing.  The work we did involved not only dealing with the acquisition of the land but also dealing with the local housing authority, the local County Council and District Council in relation to Section 38 Agreements and also the local water authority in relation to the Section 104 Agreements”.

Byron Wilson, who is the lead director of developments, was also a well deserving regional winner and grand finalist in the Constructions Specialist of the Year award category.  He said:  “It is a massive thrill for the company to win such a prestigious award”.  Bryon thanked all his team for their persistence and courage in the last few years on the development of the site and this includes Stuart Bailey and his team at Thomson Hayton Winkley.
