As part of National Apprenticeship Week (6th – 12th February 2023) we wanted to shine the spotlight on our two brilliant Business Admin Apprentices, Nicole Stead and Iona McCarten.
Nicole joined us some 18 months ago and embarked on a Level 3 Business & Administration Apprenticeship that saw her study at Kendal College one day a week and work alongside the legal team the rest of the time. Over the months Nicole has flourished into a confident individual who is highly motivated and dedicated in the work she undertakes.
Nicole has recently finished her Apprenticeship and passed both parts of her course with distinction, meaning that she has achieved a distinction overall for which we are extremely proud!
She has become very much part of the ever growing team at THW, and having been excellently trained by Tracy King, can now be found greeting clients on our reception at Kendal.
Over at our Windermere office, Iona joined last November and has been learning the ropes on reception since then, under the expert eye of Steph Fleming. Iona has slowly but steadily been getting to grips with the legal world (which for a 17 year old can be tough) and has been growing in confidence daily. As Nicole finished, Iona started her Level 3 Business & Administration course this week.
Having apprentices has been a new thing at THW but we wholeheartedly endorse the Apprenticeship scheme which has been a great way for us to find new staff and has also been a positive experience for them, helping them get both training and work at the same time. If either want to progress to do legal, rather than administrative work, then there are also opportunities to train whilst working. We already have Legal Executives who have chosen that route.
