Legacy information company Smee & Ford have announced that from their recent research, there were 123,298 charity bequests in Wills in 2022.

The total gifted to charity reached £21.3billion and one in six Wills included a gift to Charity.

You can support causes that are close to you and you family, but there are also many Inheritance Tax advantages of leaving a gift to Charity in your Will.  Gifts to Charity are exempt from Inheritance Tax but, also, if you wish to leave 10% of your Estate to Charity, the Inheritance Tax rate falls from 40% to 36%.  This can be an extremely useful Tax planning tool and, if you require any more information on this, please contact one of our team.
