Chartered Legal Executive • Kendal
I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and a Commissioner for Oaths having obtained Fellowship in 2009. I have specialised in wills, trusts, estate administration (including estates with an international element), inheritance tax planning and Court of Protection work (which, includes Lasting Powers of Attorney, registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney, Living Wills and Deputyship Orders) for over 15 years. I am also a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly and a member of the Law Society’s Private Client Section.
I have continued my studies and have just completed my final year of my LLB (Hons) degree via the Open University and I am awaiting my final exam results.
I trained through the Alzheimer’s Society as a dementia friends champion and have provided dementia friends sessions to local girl guides groups and businesses.
Outside work, I am a keen sports fan and a supporter of Glasgow Celtic and I am also an avid follower of both MotoGP and Formula 1. I also enjoy weekly horse riding lessons although I still have a lot of room for improvement. Charitable work has always been important to me and I have undertaken a 13,000 ft tandem skydive on behalf of the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society. I was a member of the Knighton & District Rotary Club before relocating to the area to be closer to family in Scotland. Since relocation I was involved with Eden Carers, initially providing advice to carers and those being care for, free advice sessions and then as a Trustee. I have more recently signed up to walk Hadrian’s Wall for the Alzheimer’s Society which is due (all being well) to happen in October.
