Small Claims
Any Count Court claim with a value of less than £10,000 is known as a “Small Claim” even though the amount of money involved may not be small. If you issue proceedings for a small claim, you will have to pay your legal costs, win or lose.
Therefore in many small claims cases it is not economic to engage a solicitor to act for you in connection with the claim itself, although we can provide some general advice if required. Depending on the nature of the dispute, you might find that the Citizen’s Advice Bureau can help. You should also consider exploring the company’s own complaints procedure.
In claims of a higher value, it may be worth incurring a solicitor’s costs and we are happy to advise whether we consider that it is in your best interests to instruct a solicitor.
