We are delighted to welcome
three new lawyers to our wills, trusts and probate team. All three have
experience in all aspects of private client work – providing legal advice on
matters such as wills, inheritance tax and capital gains tax, plus estate
management and other inheritance matters.
Fiona Ward (above left) joined THW in May at our Windermere office. Following an initial career in management consultancy and bringing up her family, Fiona relocated back to this area and retrained as a solicitor, qualifying in 2010. She is also a Trustee of St John’s Hospice and sits on their fundraising and communications committee.
In June we welcomed Claire Maxwell (above centre) as a new member of the team at Kendal. Claire is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and is continuing her training towards qualifying as a solicitor. She is also a keen charity worker, and as well as working with the Alzheimer’s Society as a Dementia Champion, she is involved with several local charities including fund raising and free advice sessions.
Melanie Weeks (above right) joined us in July, working from our Kirkby Lonsdale office. Melanie came to the law later in life after a career in the health service before qualifying as a solicitor and working with other local firms in Morecambe and Kendal. Like Fiona and Claire, Melanie is also a keen charity fundraiser – including long distance bike rides to raise funds for local charities.Simon Theobald, director at THW says “We are delighted that three such experienced lawyers have joined us, and we know they will be a great asset to our team. Following a difficult few months for everyone due to CV19, we are so pleased to have re-opened our offices and getting back to full strength – offering the best in legal advice to our clients old and new”.
