Krystal Garnett, a Private Client solicitor based in our Windermere office, has recently completed the Lakeland 50 in aid of Epic Kidz.
The 50 mile race started from the Northern end of Ullswater within the Dalemain Estate before following the Eastern shore line as far as Howtown. With approximately 3100m of ascent, the route from there visited Mardale Head, Longsleddale, Kentmere, Ambleside, Langdale and Tilberthwaite before finally finishing at Coniston. Krystal crossed over the finish line shortly before midnight having set off on the course at 11.30am.
The Lakeland 50 supports Epic Kidz, a charity providing small grants for volunteer groups organising sporting or recreational activities for children in the North West.
“I entered the race ultimately to test myself and as an active person who loves the outdoors I was delighted to raise money for Epic Kidz as part of my entry.
I think that the charity is really special. In an age of social media and computer games, encouraging and inspiring children to be active is so important.
I really enjoyed the challenge, though it was tough and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our fund raising efforts, especially Thomson Hayton Winkley who gave a substantial donation and helped us raise nearly £500 for the charity.”
Simon Theobald, Director of Thomson Hayton Winkley commented,
“We are constantly amazed at the funding raising efforts of our colleagues and were delighted to support Krystal in this challenge for such a great cause.”
