My background is dispute resolution both for private individuals and business clients, which means that on any day I can be dealing with a varied and interesting range of matters – from boundary disputes to inheritance claims. Having joined Hayton Winkley in 1986, I qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 1993, and now have many years experience in all aspects of dispute resolution – with a particular interest in personal injury claims, and also helping tourism and rural businesses.
All dispute resolution lawyers are under a duty to try and resolve matters without going to court. I therefore adopt a pragmatic approach to get the best possible result for the client as quickly and painlessly as possible, but always paying attention to detail. I do not like to give up!
In the last few years I have taken on the role of Business Development & Marketing Manager helping to grow the firm and making the most of my skills and interest in the local area and other local businesses. In November 2023 I became a Director and am looking forward to everything that this will bring.
I am married with two sons and I have a border terrier. I like nothing better than walking her in our beautiful Cumbrian countryside stopping off at a nice pub or coffee shop on the way home! Other interests include crafting, cooking, music and, whenever possible, travelling – especially to sunny places, and (not always sunny) Scotland!
