We were happy to get involved this week at an event helping local school students look to the future.
Kirkbie Kendal School held a careers fair yesterday with the aim of helping their year 9, 11 and sixth form students to find out more about the opportunities within a variety of organisations and industries, including the routes to take and qualifications needed. Hopefully this will help students make informed decisions about their education and future careers.
Kate Seymour, one of Thomson Hayton Winkley’s commercial and residential property lawyers, and Sarah Playforth, who is one of our wills and probate solicitors, attended the day. They spoke to numerous students advising them on a career in the law and the pathways to such a career. They also advised the students on the value of a law degree and the qualifications necessary to apply.
The careers fair was very successful and both Kate and Sarah were glad to offer some guidance to the students about potential careers in law. (The attached photo shows Kate with two of the pupils)
